Survival to surrender
You've been carrying the weight of your past with you, desperately searching for a safe haven where you can pause and catch your breath. As the shadows of what once was draw nearer and your present rushes forward into an uncertain future, it can feel like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. It’s a tough spot, and feeling overwhelmed is entirely understandable. So, what do you choose to do at this moment? SURRENDER.
Completely surrender yourself, along with your aspirations, plans, and personal beliefs. Let go of your dreams, hopes, and the vision you have for your life. Release your attachments to your family and friends, allowing them to be themselves without the expectations you may have placed upon them. Set aside your definitions of success, whether they relate to your career, achievements, or social status. Reflect on your notions of marriage and relationships, acknowledging that they may need to evolve. Finally, relinquish your interpretations of how to serve God, opening your heart to a deeper understanding of faith and purpose. Trust God and submit all these aspects of your life to His guidance.
SCRIPTURE Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”Romans 10:13 NKJV
Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.Romans 10:113 MSG
PRAYER
Father God, thank You for being everything to me. According to Your words, You are always at work. You are the only one who has a plan for my life, and that plan is good, prosperous, and full of hope. In this moment, Lord, I surrender everything to You. I have tried my own way, but it has led me to darkness and taken me far away from You. It has left me feeling empty and broken. Father, please forgive me for the sins I have committed and deliver me from them. According to Your promises, I call upon You in my time of trouble, trusting that You will save me so I can find rest in Your words. Thank you, Father, for continually saving me. I trust that this time I will turn away from every evil and return to you wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
